Atlanta Braves affiliates began rolling out their Opening Day rosters on Monday and we break them down for each team ahead of MiLB’s Opening Day on Tuesday, May 4.

While the big league Atlanta Braves aren’t giving us much hope at the moment, at least we now have something else to get us excited about with the start of minor league baseball season this week.

And Monday was a big day with the Opening Day rosters for each team being announced.

Here are some of the highlights:

Braves Triple-A — Gwinnett Stripers

Still haven’t announced it, but you can figure it out based on who is on the rosters below. Drew Waters, Kyle Muller, and Tucker Davidson figure to headline this roster.

And yes, their Twitter account got me with the Rick Roll…

Braves Double-A — Mississippi Braves

The first-round picks from 2019 are the clear highlights on this team with Shea Langeliers and Braden Shewmake.

Langeliers becomes even more intriguing to me with the Travis d’Arnaud news. Had Langy been able to play all of last year I think he could really push to make his debut this season.

Trey Harris is one of my favorite players in the system, so I’m glad I’ll get to see him when Mississippi comes to Birmingham.

There aren’t a ton of highlights on the pitching side, but someone I’m keeping my eye on is Mitch Stallings. He was a big arm for Duke early in his college career but then struggled his junior and senior seasons.

He started to put it together in 2019 and I’m hoping that continued through the pandemic and now at the Double-A level.

Victor Vodnik is another big arm to watch here.

Braves High-A — Rome Braves

If you live near Rome, get out to the ballpark early and often to see Michael Harris. He’s the top prospect in the Braves’ system — in my opinion — and might not be in Rome long.

He’ll be joined in the outfield by 2020 draft pick Jesse Franklin. I’m excited to see what he does in his pro debut.

Rome fans also get to enjoy the wonderfulness of Bryce Ball — don’t miss batting practice if you’re allowed to watch.

Other recent draft picks, Bryce Elder and Jared Shuster, will start in Rome. With them being advanced college arms, I could see them moving up quickly as well if they get out to a hot start.

I’ve always been a big Ricky DeVito fan and think he could sneak up on some people.

Kasey Kalich is another top prospect arm to keep an eye on.

Braves Single-A — Augusta GreenJackets

The newest affiliate for the Braves, there isn’t a lot of star power on this roster — at least right now. But this is where you could see some players make big jumps after being off all last year. Those who put in the work and are ready out of the gate will turn a lot of heads early.

Infielder Vaughn Grissom and pitcher Tyler Owens are the only two top 30 prospects on this roster.

Cam Shepherd is someone I’ll be watching. The former Georgia product was a top prospect coming out of high school but struggled last season at UGA and the Braves were able to sign him as an undrafted player.

I’ve always liked his character and make-up. If he can ever put it all together he’ll become a huge steal for the Braves.

Those are the rosters. Let us know who you’ll be watching this year. And please go out and support your local Minor League Baseball teams — even if they aren’t a Braves affiliate. It’s been a rough year-and-a-half for those front offices and they could use our support.
