2. Braves win NL East… Again
The NL East will once again feature some of the top teams and players in baseball in 2021.
Yes, each team in the division arguably got better in the off-season.
The Mets acquired superstar shortstop Francisco Lindor, while also spending to improve other areas such as catcher and pitching. New York also returns a team loaded with talent headlined by arguably the best pitcher in baseball Jacob deGrom and slugging 1B Pete Alonso.
The Phillies stayed the same for the most part, but were able to re-sign catcher JT Realmuto, keeping the star catcher in Philadelphia. Philadelphia now enters year three of the Bryce Harper era hoping for some better results compared to the previous two seasons.
The Nationals added big bats to their lineup in Kyle Schwarber and Josh Bell, while also bringing in veteran pitchers including Jon Lester. Even though they took a step back a year ago, the 2019 World Series Champs are talented let by superstar Juan Soto.
The Marlins got another year of development for their talented young roster after making the Postseason a year ago, while also bringing in veterans including former Atlanta Braves outfielder Adam Duvall. Don’t sleep on the Fish, this team surprised many people a year ago and will once again do the same in 2021.
The Braves however return most of the talent from last season’s team that finished a game shy of the World Series, while also bringing in veterans such as Charlie Morton, Drew Smyly, and more.
While other teams are loaded with talent, the Braves should still be considered the favorite to win the NL East for the 4th consecutive season in 2021.
