We take a stab at who will make the 26-man roster coming out of Spring Training for the Atlanta Braves heading into this 2021 season.
For a team that is that has aspirations of winning a World Series in 2021, there are still several question marks on the Atlanta Braves roster heading into Spring Training.
The main pieces are in place, sure, but if injuries start to hit — and they most certainly will over a full season — there is plenty of concern behind the starters.
Of course, with it being a long season there is plenty of time for the Braves to make changes and bring in new talent to help supplement any injuries or lack of production.
Still, it would be nice to go into the season feeling good about all 26 guys on the roster.
Right now I can confidently say that I’m comfortable with 14 guys on the Braves roster — that’s just a little over half.
Certainly not what you want going into Spring Training — again, for a team that was one win away from winning a World Series in 2021.
If I’m being honest, I think Alex Anthopoulos and the front office has been very lazy this offseason in trying to make sure this team is equipped from the start to have a big year.
Again, I know moves can still be made, and maybe it’s smart to see how things play out first so you know what you have and then adjust.
And also, it was really hard to evaluate players last year in what was such a weird season — that part I can understand.
But not addressing the bench and the depth of this team is something I can’t understand and just hope it doesn’t hurt us early on.
Still, if the top guys remain healthy then this is one of the best teams in all of baseball. Let’s see what the roster will likely look like on Opening Day.
