Another week down in this abbreviated Major League season. Hard to believe but around this time next week, we will almost be halfway done with the regular season.
The Atlanta Braves had a roller coaster week this past week, but with that being said they are still tied for first place in the NL East.
Let’s get right to the rankings for them and every other team throughout the land.
30. Pittsburgh Pirates
Another week and yet again the Pittsburgh Pirates are down at the bottom of these rankings. It did not help at all that some of their games were postponed due to the Reds Covid outbreak over the weekend.
29. Seattle Mariners
The Mariners long drought of missing the playoffs look like it will continue for at least another year. On the other hand, they are only half a game out of the Angels as they battle for the basement of the AL West.
28. San Francisco Giants
The Giants are proving that the late season run they had last year was a massive fluke. However, Donovan Solano currently has an average of .403. Not too bad.
27. Boston Red Sox
The Red Sox are playing terrible baseball at the moment. As of this writing, they have lost seven in a row and three of those coming to the arch rival New York Yankees. Hopefully they stay cold until after they play the Atlanta Braves coming up.
26. Los Angeles Angels
Small tangent upcoming. For all the people saying the Atlanta Braves should have held on to Julio Teheran….he has given up 11 earned runs across 8 innings in 2020 so far. It was past time to move on.
25. Kansas City Royals
The Royals are playing respectable ball and let’s give a little shout out too Brady Singer who is pitching nicely so far for Kansas City
24. Toronto Blue Jays
We have all seen those minor league stadiums where the freeway is right up close to the outfield wall. Well its the same in Buffalo where the Jays plays now and a car might be in danger.
23. New York Mets
Jacob deGrom was scratched from his last start…but if it were the Atlanta Braves, he would have come out and thrown seven scoreless innings.
22. Detroit Tigers
The bad news is they have lost 5 straight to fall under .500, but the good news is top prospect Casey Mize will be called up to make his debut on Wednesday. Brighter days ahead for the Tigers.
21. Washington Nationals
The Atlanta Braves finally get a crack at the Nationals starting Monday evening. The even better news is the Braves are SCHEDULED to face the lesser end of the Nationals staff over the series.
