The bad news continues to pile up for the Atlanta Braves with their young superstar Ronald  Acuna Jr. now out with a wrist injury.

After finding out the Atlanta Braves were losing their best pitcher in Mike Soroka for the season last week, they now find out they could be without their best hitter for a while as well.

Ronald Acuna Jr. was a late scratch from the lineup on Tuesday night with a wrist injury.

At the time many thought it was just a precaution and he would be fine. But after the game on Tuesday manager Brian Snitker made it sound like it’s a little worse than we hoped.

The fact that Acuna wasn’t available to play at all — even as a pinch-hitter or pinch-runner in a tight spot — tells me the injury is pretty severe and he could spend time on the IL.

Wednesday morning it was reported that he’ll have further evaluation done on the wrist to see just how made it is.

We all know how devastating wrist injuries can be for baseball players.

Freddie Freeman has struggled with wrist injuries in the past and Ronald’s BFF, Ozzie Albies, is currently on the IL with a wrist injury.

With the Braves having an off day on Thursday it was never that likely we’d see Ronald rushed back into action on Wednesday regardless.

Hopefully the test results come back clean and these three days off will allow his wrist to heal up and he can avoid a trip to the IL.

It’s really just a shame because he was starting to catch fire after his slow start to the season.

Without Acuna in the lineup and with the way the Braves starting rotation is currently constructed, there are real concerns going forward with this team.

Let’s all just hope and pray for the best that Acuna will be back soon.
