The news was not good about an hour and a half before the first pitch for the Atlanta Braves when news about Ronald Acuna getting scratched come out

Perhaps we should have saw how the night was going to go then because it did not get much better as the Atlanta Braves lost 9-6.

Braves starter Touki Toussaint had a first inning similar to the one Atlanta endured Monday night against the Phillies.

After a throwing error that would have given the Braves two outs on the inning, Toussaint gave up a three-run jack to Yankees first baseman Luke Voit.

It was not the prettiest start for Touki, but he was able to throw some good pitches and if it were not for Marcell Ozuna playing right field, he might have escaped with only giving up four runs in the contest.

Bryse Wilson, who would come on in relief and make his first appearance for the Atlanta Braves in the abbreviated season, would go on to give up a shot to Aaron Judge. Let’s be honest, not many pitchers can say they have not allowed a home run to Judge at this point:  he’s that hot right now.

The bottom line is the Atlanta Braves have some serious pitching problems that if they do not correct soon, will possibly leave them on the outside looking in even with the expanded playoffs in 2020.

Over the last 16 innings, the Atlanta Braves have given up 22 runs.

It’s also not really fair to just put this all on the loss of Mike Soroka either. He could only do so much by himself and the rest of the pitching staff has severely underperformed, minus a couple of them.

We’ve all said it before but it is going to be a minor miracle if General Manager Alex Anthopolous can pull off any deal to bring in any arms to the organization with the expanded playoffs and the biggest seller’s market possibly ever.

This has become a nightmare and obviously needs to get fixed real soon.

Atlanta Braves shortstop Dansby Swanson has struggled since his early start and that was no exception on Tuesday as he went 0-5.

The big bat for the Atlanta Braves on this night was Marcell Ozuna who drove in three runs with a shot in the middle innings to get the Atlanta Braves on the board.

Hopefully the ‘TBA’ pitcher for the Braves on Wednesday will get it figured out and we can give a little payback to the same New York Yankees.
