At long last, baseball and our Atlanta Braves have returned.  Glorious!

Sure:  since this recording was completed, our beloved Atlanta Braves fell to the New York Mets thanks to a single pitch that met Yoenis Cespedes’ bat in an unfortunate manner.

It still marks the beginning of a sprint like none other:  60 games to decide… well, some of the results.

Thanks to a last-minute decision, we will be having an equally unusual expanded playoff program:  16 teams that will battle for the crown in October.

While I’m not personally a fan of this in general, it does seem to permit some “wiggle room” for teams having bad luck with virus issues.

What do you think about that?  It is okay that more than half the teams will make the “post-season” this year?  Moreover, what about next year and beyond?  Is this going to be something that “sticks” that we can’t get rid of in the future?

We discuss this and a lot more in this week’s podcast, which you can listen to with the link right here…

The direct download link is available here if you prefer to listen in that manner. This is also available via iTunes, Spreaker, and a variety of other podcast outlets.

Look at it this way:  you’re a baseball fan (else why are you here??) and we’ve finally got some baseball happening on the field.  Even if there are aspects of this that rub you the wrong way, it’s something worth watching.

Heck, with a regular season lasting just 60 games, if you blink you’ll miss something, so by all means:  drink it in and savor what we have been given, for after all, November will be upon us quickly and then we’ll have to fret about how short it all was.
