The Atlanta Braves have a full week of intrasquad games to prepare for the 2020 season. Here is what we should be looking for as fans.

We’re just a little over a week away from the Atlanta Braves kicking off the delayed start of the 2020 season with a trip to New York where they’ll begin their defense of the NL East title against the Mets.

But before we get there, the team is still tuning up to prepare for the 60-game sprint that is the 2020 season.

The Braves plan on playing four intrasquad games this week and then they have two exhibition games schedule against the Miami Marlins on July 21-22.

The intrasquad game on Monday, July 13, and the two exhibition games against the Marlins, will be televised.

I’m not sure why they can’t televise the other two intrasquad games, it’s not like there is anything better to watch on TV right now, but I digress.

This will be a good chance for fans to get a look at the team and also to experience what it will be like watching a game without fans.

But here is what I’ll be looking for as I watch these practice games over the next week.

Pitchers workload: It sounds like Brian Snitker wants to his pitcher to be ready to throw around 75 pitches when the season starts.

While I think it’s a little silly to baby some of these starters in what will be a short season, the Braves do have the pitching depth to allow for this.

We’ll see how many pitches Snitker let’s each starter throw in these games in hopes they’re ready to go four or five innings when the regular season starts.
