Mark Melancon – 200 Saves

Mark Melancon resurrected his career as a closer last season with the Braves. He had a four-year run between 2013-2016 where he was one of the game’s most dominant relievers. During that time he posted an astounding 1.80 ERA in 290.0 innings pitched. He accumulated 147 of his 194 saves in that same span. That stretch would lead Melancon to the richest free-agent contract for a reliever.

He came over to the Braves at the trade deadline to bolster a struggling bullpen for the postseason bound Braves. Mark would end his run with the Braves with a 3.86 ERA and 11 saves in 21.0 innings pitched.

The Braves signed Will Smith this offseason but Snitker appears to be committed to Melancon for right now. He is only six saves shy of the 200 mark. His 194 saves are good for 52nd all-time.

Ozzie Albies – 100 Doubles

Ozzie Albies is just eight doubles away from 100 through just 375 games played. Albies is the one that really jumps off the page. According to this list on Fangraphs, Albies is one of the most prolific doubles hitters ever through his first 375 games.

Between 1876-2019 of players with 375 games or less, Albies is tied for first place on this massive list of 3,438 players. You don’t have to run a bunch of numbers through Fangraphs to know that his 83 doubles over the past two seasons is absolutely amazing.
