Atlanta Braves Hall of Fame third baseman Chipper Jones shared his opinion on the Astros cheating in 2017 and how it was handled by the league.

I don’t think it’s any secret now that current and former players are extremely disappointed and angry with how the Houston Astros punishment, or lack thereof, has been handled. And Atlanta Braves legend Chipper Jones shares those same sentiments.

I’m pretty sure you’re all familiar with what happened so I’m not going to go into too many specifics about the sign-stealing scandal in Houston.

The Astros used a live-feed camera to help them decode signs in real-time and sit on opposing pitchers’ pitches. They got caught and immunity was given to players involved in exchange for testimony.

Manager A.J. Hinch and General Manager Jeff Luhnow found themselves suspended from Major League Baseball for 1-year and were ultimately fired by Houston owner Jim Crane.

Players around the league have made it know how upset they are with how things have been dealt with and haven’t been shy about announcing their grievances.

Atlanta Braves outfielder Nick Markakis said in an interview recently that “every single guy over there needs a beating.

More specifically he stated that MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred should be embarrassed and how this scandal hurt a lot of people.

"“We don’t stand behind them nor will we support them.” He went on to say, “I 100% disagree with the way they did it. There’s a lot of people that were hurt by it.” -Nick Markakis"

It’s not surprising that Markakis had an issue with what happened and how it was handled. He’s a guy that always plays the game “the right way.”

But he’s not the only one speaking out on the subject. Even Mike Trout (subscription required) is speaking out on his displeasure for what took place in Houston.
