Tomahawk Take Podcast Episode 1: Braves act fast in early part of offseason
In our very first episode of the Tomahawk Take podcast, we talk about the flurry of moves from Alex Anthopoulos and the Atlanta Braves so far this offseason.
It’s been a long process to get the Tomahawk Take podcast going, but we’ve finally got our first podcast up. This one was actually recorded around November 25 so we are talking about a lot the early signings for the Atlanta Braves.
We start out talking about the bullpen signings for the Braves. In the 2019 season Atlanta struggled mightily early in the season in the bullpen. Anthopoulos went out before the trade deadline to fix that, and he appears to be making it a point this offseason to get that done a lot sooner.
Next we talk about the budget for the Braves this offseason. Anthopoulos seems to be spending like he doesn’t have much of a budget this offseason, but just how high can it go?
Right before we recorded this podcast Atlanta had just signed Travis d’Arnaud to a two-year, $16 million contract, so we discuss the signing and the outlook for d’Arnaud and the catching tandem with him and Tyler Flowers.
And we wrap up our first episode talking about what could be next for the Braves and Anthopoulos this offseason.
We also discuss our Mock Winter Meetings here at FanSided and some of the takeaways from that simulation.
Thank you so much for your continued support of us here at Tomahawk Take and your patience as we get this podcast thing figured out.
It will be a quick turnaround for our next podcast as we’ll be posting Episode 2 later on Saturday or Sunday morning to give you our thoughts on the upcoming 2019 MLB Winter Meetings.
Make sure you keep your eye on that to come out soon and please make sure you subscribe to the Tomahawk Take podcast for future episodes.
