The field is set with the Atlanta Braves and others and it’s time for the 2019 MLB postseason to get underway. But before that happens, here is who we think will win it all.

As Atlanta Braves fans we know how meaningless MLB postseason predictions can be, or predictions in general.

If it were up to the ‘experts’ of our sport the Atlanta Braves wouldn’t even be in the postseason right now.

Not many picked the Braves to win the NL East again this year, and there likely won’t be many who pick them to win the World Series.

But that doesn’t mean predictions aren’t fun, so we polled our staff and followers on Twitter to see who are the favorites in this year’s MLB postseason.

NL Wild Card

We’ll start with the NL Wild Card game between our rival Washington Nationals against the NL Central Milwaukee Brewers.

Eleven of the 12 responses we received from our staff picked the Nationals to win.

A lot of that may have to do with divisional pride and the familiarity with the Nationals, but it may also do with the fact that Max Scherzer will be starting that game for Washington.

Of the 13 responses we received on Twitter, 10  of them picked the Nats to win.

As much as I want the Brewers to win that game and send our rivals home, the Nats will be a heavy favorite in this one.

Winner: Nationals

AL Wild Card

The AL Wild Card game between the Oakland Athletics and Tampa Bay Rays should be a much harder game to predict.

Former Brave Charlie Morton is expected to get the start for the Rays and he’s been unbelievable for them this year with 16 wins and a 3.05 ERA.

The A’s still haven’t decided who will start for them, but it makes sense to start lefty Sean Manaea who has been great since coming back from offseason shoulder surgery with a 1.21 ERA in 5 starts.

Eight of our staff picked the A’s to win this game, while the majority (seven-of-13) on Twitter picked the Rays to win.

I have to side with Twitter on this one and our old friend Charlie Morton.

Winner: Tampa Bay Rays
