The Atlanta Braves travel to Target Field in the first part of the week to take on the American Central leading Minnesota Twins for three games.

After splitting their four-game series with the Cincinnati Reds over the weekend, the Atlanta Braves head on the road this week, beginning with a three-game series with the red-hot and very good Minnesota Twins, who are coming off a three-game sweep of the Kansas City Royals.

Over their last 10 games, the Twins have gone 8-2 and have averaged 6.6 runs per game during that span.

That goes right along with the ammo of this team, which is arguably the best offensive team in baseball.

The Twins are first in home runs (217) and are in the top spot by almost 30 homers over the second place Yankees. They are also first in OPS (.837) and third in runs (642).

There are 11 players on the Twins’ roster that have hit 10 home runs or more, four that have hit 20 or more and two that have hit 30.

Nelson Cruz and Max Kepler have each hit 30 home runs and driven in 72 and 76 runs, respectively.

But perhaps the Twins best player is young shortstop, Jorge Polanco, who has a line of .299/.359/.506, with 17 home runs and 55 RBIs and a WAR of 4.6.

The common opinion is the Twins pitching staff leaves a lot to be desired, but that really isn’t true either, as their rotation is fifth in baseball in ERA (3.77) and eighth in batting average against (.244).

Two of their best starters, Jose Berrios and Jake Odorizzi, will start against the Atlanta Braves this week.

The last time the Braves played the Twins was in 2016 when they split four games, but they also played in 2013 and the Braves swept all four games.

Needless to say, the Braves will have their hands full.
