The Atlanta Braves slugged their way to victory Tuesday night in Washington, D.C. with Adam Duvall leading the charge with his first multi-homer game since 2017.

The Atlanta Braves suffered a disappointing loss Monday night to the Nationals but they had other plans on Tuesday evening as they tagged the Nationals for 11 runs.

Julio Teheran had a dazzling performance on the mound as he held the Nationals to just 2 runs across 6.2 innings pitched.

The offense supplied Teheran with 11 runs of support and he showed his gratitude by pitching his behind off.

Atlanta Braves hitters scored those 11 runs on 15 hits including 2 home runs from Adam Duvall (yes, you heard that right) and a 3-run homer from Josh Donaldson. Ozzie Albies and Ender Inciarte also notched 3 hits apiece to contribute to the offensive explosion.

This was the right way for the Braves to answer a tough loss. I’m most impressed by how this team reacts to games like that.

They’re able to keep their composure in moments of frustration and that’s not something every Major League team is capable of doing well.

Losing Markakis and Swanson was an extremely tough pill to swallow but to have Inciarte come back the way he has and Adam Duvall step in and continue to rake against opposing pitching is an extremely nice luxury to have.

This game was too close for comfort in the late innings as the bullpen allowed the Nationals to score 7 runs across the final three frames. A.J. Minter, Anthony Swarzak, and Luke Jackson all surrendered runs in their relief appearances.

Luckily, the Braves had a nice cushion to work with and it didn’t cost them the game and with Tuesday night’s win, Atlanta finds themselves back to a 5 and a half-game lead over Washington.

Let’s get into some highlights from Tuesday’s action-packed game.
