As most teams pass the 100 game mark including the Atlanta Braves, it’s time to recap with our latest edition of the Power Rankings

Our Atlanta Braves had a 2-4 week thanks to a pair of sets against the Brewers and Nationals, yet maintained a solid distance.  Here’s how the other teams around baseball are looking this week.

30. Detroit Tigers

The Tigers have 8 wins since June 1st.  This is not a typo.  After a mildly surprising first two months, this team has fell off a cliff and now we have real doubts they will even be able to win 50 games this entire season. Especially if they trade Matthew Boyd and Nicholas Castellanos.

29. Baltimore Orioles

Winners of three of there last 4, maybe they can get a little streaky and catch Toronto for 4th in the AL East? Then again, it would probably be in the team’s best interest not to.

28. Miami Marlins

Jordan Yamamoto finally looked human Sunday as he gave up 5 runs against the Dodgers. Then again, it was the Dodgers. He still looks like a quality young piece Miami can maybe build around.

27. Kansas City Royals

The Braves next opponent is coming in while maybe playing the their best ball of the year as they have won 5 of 7 and 7 of the team’s last 10 games. Oh, and we get their best pitchers in Danny Duffy and Brad Keller.

26. Seattle Mariners

3-15 over the last 18 games will put you near the bottom. I’m a little surprised we haven’t already seen the M’s trade away a couple more players by this point.

25. Toronto Blue Jays

Toronto actually has some quality young hitters. They also have Marcus Stroman who will surely be traded in the next 9 days. Besides him, they have absolutely no pitching to really speak of. Things might get worse before they get better… in fact, they lost a game to Detroit on Sunday.

24. Chicago White Sox

The White Sox lost 8 in a row before they took 2 out of 3 against the Rays. The little hope they had of being a Wild Card team a few weeks ago is now gone out the window.

23. New York Mets

The Mets were playing better ball after the All Star break and then they ran into the buzz saw also known as the San Francisco Giants. It will be interesting to see how Freshman GM Brodie Van Wagenen will handle his first trade deadline.

22. Pittsburgh Pirates

It seemed as if the Pirates were maybe trying to get back in the NL Central race but they have come out of the break not playing good ball and have dropped back in the race again. They are obviously hoping Chris Archer can get back to his Tampa ways.

21. San Diego Padres

Not long ago, they were in second in their division.  Thanks to the good play of other teams, they have fallen to last in the division. As soon as some of these young pitchers get there though, they should be good for a while to come.
