The Atlanta Braves and Los Angeles Dodgers started a series Monday evening, which was a rematch of the 2018 NLDS.

LA jumped out to a 5-0 lead on the Atlanta Braves and they were only able to get three back as they lost 5-3 in game 1 of the series.

A couple of costly mistakes on defense really hurt the Braves in this game. And it seemed like the Dodgers made all the plays on their end, and a couple of great plays as well to end some threats from the Braves.

Let’s take a look at the 3 biggest takeaways from the game.

1. The Dodgers (Particularly Dodger Stadium) are the enemy

I remember thinking last year when the Rockies and Dodgers were playing for the chance to play the Atlanta Braves in the playoffs, anyone but the Dodgers. They are the team the Braves, it seems, absolutely can’t solve, especially in LA.

Going back the last five years, the Braves are 10-22 against the Dodgers and the record in LA is 4-12. That includes the playoff games from last October.

Granted, a couple of those Braves teams that account in that record were not good teams to say the least, but regardless, this current Braves group better figure it out soon.

This is the only time the Braves will play in Dodgers Stadium during the regular season, which is great, but if the Braves make it back to October again this year, there is a good chance it might be the Dodgers who we play again.

Hopefully the Atlanta Braves can execute better and figure out the Dodgers and Dodger Stadium as well starting Tuesday night.
