The Atlanta Braves have been searching for some help in the bullpen, and they may have found one answer in the form of Jacob Webb.

A former 18th round pick by the Atlanta Braves back in 2014, Jacob Webb has worked his way through the Minor League system to earn his chance in the big leagues.

The 25-year-old played at Tabor College where he made 15 starts in 2014 and had a 1.88 ERA in 105.1 innings pitched with 129 strikeouts and a WHIP of 0.93.

That season he helped lead his team to a 51-13 overall record and a trip to the NAIA World Series.

Jumping to 2019, Webb was invited to Spring Training with the Atlanta Braves but didn’t get the results he was looking for.

He made five appearances this past Spring and gave up 3 earned runs on 6 hits and 2 walks with just 2 strikeouts.

Webb started the 2019 season in Triple-A, but he quickly got the call to the big leagues.

The right-handed reliever has had quite the week in the Atlanta Braves bullpen.

His first couple of outings came in low leverage situations. But because everyone else in the bullpen has been struggling, Snitker has turned to Webb in some high leverage situations lately.

On Sunday he picked up his first Major League win after coming in and getting the final out of the 8th against the Rockies before the Braves rallied in the bottom half.

And then on Monday night he got the final two outs against the Padres to pick up the first save of his career.

It has been an interesting ride for Mr. Webb, and we hope there is more excitement to come.
