After a disappointing start to the series in Cincinnati, the Atlanta Braves rebounded with a gutty 3-1 victory over the Reds on Wednesday.

It was a combination of power, pitching, and defense that pushed the Atlanta Braves back above .500 again.

It didn’t take long for the lineup to make its presence known against familiar foe Tanner Roark, as Ozzie Albies mashed the first pitch of the game nearly to the Ohio/Kentucky border.

Mike Soroka gave reason to believe in the young arms of this Braves rotation again with a fine outing that saw him pitch deep into the 6th and only allowing one run.

And since we don’t get to say it very often…how about that bullpen?!

The Braves relievers pitched like they had something to prove on Wednesday night, going 3.1 innings of shutout ball when Atlanta needed it most.

Things could’ve very easily gone sideways in this game if not for a few key moments that turned the tide for the Braves.

The team proved on Wednesday that they’re capable of winning a tight, low-scoring affair when the situation calls for it.

Did you know?…It’s the first game this YEAR that the Braves have won when scoring 3 runs or fewer.

Here’s three more takeaways from Atlanta’s hard-fought win over the Reds.
