Here’s your chance to make your feelings known about how well this Atlanta Braves team will perform during the 2019 regular season.

This is a fun survey we like to do each year:  something to gauge the overall optimism about the upcoming Atlanta Braves season with you – the fans of the team.

Below, you’ll find a link to a Google Forms document (it’s an external link that will jump to their site).  Simply click it and fill out the form… it should take maybe 5-6 minutes tops.

The survey is open for use right now and will remain available through roughly Noon EDT on Opening Day (March 28).

A big part of the fun is finding out who gets the most of these questions right … and just how many correct answers are tabulated (there have been some rather impressive results in the past!).

We don’t have a prize, per se, but we can bestow the not-yet-coveted title of Supreme Braves Prognosticator… or whatever you’d rather call yourself.

All questions are optional, but it doesn’t hurt to guess (since a missing answer is a guaranteed ‘miss’).

At the end we include a place for you to provide a name/moniker/email address…something to identify you.  As always we pledge never to use this information for any purpose other than in handling this survey and for notifying the winner so that bragging rights may be enjoyed to their fullest.

(If you self-identify as ‘BobWasHere@Aol.com’ and happen to win, we’ll probably tell everybody that somebody named ‘Bob’ won… but that’s as far as it goes.)

Here is the Survey Form

The survey is available via this link to a Google Forms page.

There are a total of 18 questions, broken down like this:

  • 5 about the team
  • 5 about the hitters
  • 5 above the pitchers
  • 3 tie-breakers

Most of the questions are easy to figure out:  most have just 2 options (Over/Under or True/False).

Points will be tabulated for the first 15 questions in this simple manner:  if you’re right, you get a point… if not, you don’t.

TIE-BREAK PROCEDURE

The tie-breakers are more open-ended, with ‘closest to the answer’ being the better result for each.

If there are 2 or more participants tied with the most correct answers, then they will ‘compete’ among each other to earn tie-breaker points.

Here’s an example based on the last tie-breaker question:

  • Ronald guesses that the Braves will steal 77 bases in 2019
  • Ender guesses they will steal 100
  • Nick guesses 55
  • Let’s suppose the actual answer turns out to be 90 (it was that in 2018).
    • Ender gets 3 points
    • Ronald 2 points
    • Nick 1 point

If, after the 3 tie-breakers, we’re still tied, the raw numbers of ‘closest to the pin’ will be used to determine a winner.  In the above example, that would be Ender with 10, Ronald 13, and Nick 35.

That’s about it!  We’d love to have you do this for us and we will share the answers given in early April.  Thank you!
