LOS ANGELES, CA – OCTOBER 04: General manager Alex  Anthopoulos and manager Brian Snitker #43 of the Atlanta Braves talk during batting practice prior to Game One of the National League Division Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium on October 4, 2018 in Los Angeles, California. Since the front office is unwilling to spend big on free agents, here are two low-budget moves they can make to help the Atlanta Braves win in 2019.

I grow tired of waiting for the Atlanta Braves front office to open up their pocketbook and sign Dallas Keuchel or Craig Kimbrel — in a perfect world, they would sign both, but we can’t even get one.

Part of me gets it. I don’t want to get tied up in a deal with Keuchel or Kimbrel for four or more years. But right now it sounds like nobody is going after either of them, and you can get them on a three-year deal or less, I can live with that kind of signing.

The other part of this is that we have no idea what’s going on behind the curtain. Alex Anthopoulos keeps things very quiet, which is great for him, but at the same time his fanbase needs to know we are at least trying to get better for the upcoming season.

After a season that brought so much excitement to the fanbase, this offseason has killed most of that with the lack of moves in free agency or trade.

Maybe we are to blame for going into the offseason thinking the front office would make some big moves to take the next step in 2019.

But still, if the Atlanta Braves aren’t going to make a big splash, there are smaller moves they can make to improve their chances for 2019.

And with all of the injury concerns, the front office would be wise to bring a couple of proven veterans on board as insurance.
