The 1990s Atlanta Braves were one of the most successful teams of any franchise in any decade, and they were recognized for that excellence.

The Atlanta Braves have had many players recognized as All-Stars since the game was first introduced in the 1930s. The rise of the second All-Star game each season in the late 1950s coincided with an excellent time of talent in the Braves organization, allowing for plenty of selections.

While the 1950s saw one more Braves All-Star selection, that was in part due to the second All-Star game in 1959, which gave the 1950s a boost of 10 All-Star selections due to 5 Braves representatives at each of the two 1959 All-Star games. The 1990s saw 37 Atlanta Braves selections for the All-Star game.

Six Atlanta Braves pitchers were the starting pitcher for the National League in the All-Star game in the 1990s. Tom Glavine started the game in 1991 and 1992. Greg Maddux started the game in 1994, 1997, and 1998. John Smoltz made the All-Star start in 1996.

The Braves had one representative in the 1990 All-Star game, catcher Greg Olson. That would be their only All-Star game of the decade without at least one starter or multiple representatives.

Next. Countdown 40, bad deal. dark

Incredibly, for all their success as the lead trio in the rotation for the Atlanta Braves in the 1990s, Glavine, Smoltz, and Maddux only made one All-Star game together, in 1996.
