Atlanta Braves: Spring Training Preview
By James Kunkle

All teams’ pitchers and catchers will report to the teams respective Spring Training facilities this week with games starting next week. Let’s take a look at some roster questions the Atlanta Braves will need to answer during Spring Training assuming they don’t add any more players.
The Atlanta Braves will be the last team to have pitchers and catchers report this week, which does give them time to make one last move (or two) before Spring Training begins. Barring another move to add to the roster, what should fans be looking for as far as storylines this spring with the Braves?
5th Rotation Piece?
We all know as of now Mike Foltynewicz, Sean Newcomb, Kevin Gausman, and Julio Teheran will most likely be the teams 1-4 starting pitchers breaking camp, but the Braves will need to evaluate and decide who will be the team’s 5th starter?
The options are plentiful with players such as Mike Soroka, Touki Toussaint, Kolby Allard, Kyle Wright, Max Fried, or Luiz Gohara. They could even elect to use a rotating door of all the options a la what the Dodgers have utilized over the last few seasons.
Another option to start the year would be to carry an extra reliever and wait until the schedule dictates you need a 5th starter to call one up and take a roster spot. A lot will depend on health and the results of Spring Training, but as of now, you have to think Soroka and Toussaint are the leading candidates.
