Is this going to be the end? The Run for the Realmuto seems to be entering its final phase and everybody who’s been involved… is still involved.
The Atlanta Braves have not been pushing hard on trade markets thus far, and this could be the reason for it: they still want to add J.T. Realmuto and until a trade is actually done, there’s no knowledge of what they still might have available to deal elsewhere.
The details are still in ‘hearsay’ mode, but (as usual), we have some guesses about what’s going on.
Here is the latest…
It still might be important to rank these clubs in terms of Catching Need. That differs between the short and long term (note that short term need can generate more panic), but here’s my best guesses on how the teams rank:
- LA Dodgers
- Houston Astros
- San Diego Padres
- Atlanta Braves (perhaps move up 1-2 spots if you’re thinking ‘long term’)
- Tampa Bay Rays
- Cincinnati Reds
I’m not personally banking on the latter pair of clubs truly being that hot on this trade pursuit, though both could benefit… and would have pieces to offer.
Let’s look at the competition…
