With the Seattle Mariners likely not moving the guy most are desiring and the money not there for a certain former Sports Illustrated cover boy, who are some of the less-heralded outfield options for Braves rumors
The Atlanta Braves are pursuing an outfielder to either work as a platoon partner for one corner outfield spot or to take one of the corner spots altogether. With the Seattle Mariners signing Yusei Kikuchi recently, they have found their pitching face for the rebuild alongside Mitch Haniger, their hitting face of the rebuild. That signing almost certainly ends the opportunity to trade for Haniger, but who else could show up in Braves rumors?
Many have discussed a number of names for the Atlanta Braves in the outfield. On the free agent market, familiar name Nick Markakis has been discussed significantly, oft-injured A.J. Pollock has contract demands beyond the Braves’ budget, Carlos Gonzalez still remains in play as a platoon partner with Adam Duvall, and Bryce Harper is certainly out of the price range for the Atlanta Braves at his current contract demands.
On the trade market, the names of Kyle Tucker, Jason Heyward, David Peralta, Joc Pederson, Wil Myers, Hunter Renfroe, Starling Marte, Nomar Mazara, Jackie Bradley, Jr., Nick Castellanos, Eddie Rosario, Max Kepler, and Clint Frazier have all been discussed plenty.
There are other names out there that have seemingly been glossed over that could be options for the Braves in both the free agent market and trade market. We’re going to explore a number of those players, starting with those who are available via free agency.
