Atlanta Braves: 2018 Florida Fire Frogs Season Review
The Atlanta Braves are seeing their minor league clubs finish out their 2018 seasons. We’ll review each one as they finish!
The 2018 minor league regular season has come to a close for the Atlanta Braves, and while the won-loss record at some levels may not be what they’d like, the development of players for the future of the organization is what is the goal of the Braves. Let’s see how each team has done with that, focusing on the Florida Fire Frogs today.
The Florida State League has not been kind to the Atlanta Braves organization. After a rough season in 2017 in their inaugural season in the FSL, the Braves new affiliate in the league, the Florida Fire Frogs finished in last place in both the first and second half of the season. The Fire Frogs finished with the worst combined record on the season in the Florida State League by 3.5 games.
Of course, that does not mean that the Fire Frogs didn’t have plenty of talent work through the team over the course of the year, but the Atlanta Braves had no issue with moving a player up to the next level when he showed readiness, making a steady team not something that was typical for Florida.
