Gwinnett Stripers 11, Charlotte Knights 5, Game 1; Gwinnett Stripers 7, Charlotte Knights 4, Game 2
The Gwinnett bats led to a sweep over the Knights and some of the top prospects in the game. The Stripers tossed a bullpen game in game 1 on Saturday and likely raised some eyebrows when one of the guys tossing just one inning was Kyle Wright, who pitched a scoreless inning, allowing a hit and striking one out.
Danny Santana, Michael Reed, and Dustin Peterson each had a double and a pair of singles. Phil Gosselin had a home run and a double. Ryan Flaherty had a pair of singles and a walk. Austin Riley and Rio Ruiz each had a home run and a walk.
Connor Johnstone got a promotion to pitch game 2, and he was solid, going 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits and a walk, striking out 5. Peter Moylan and Brandon McCarthy each tossed a scoreless rehab inning.
Phil Gosselin continued his big day, with a pair of doubles, giving him four hits on the day, all extra-base hits, with three doubles and a home run. Rio Ruiz had a pair of singles and a walk. Sal Giardina had a double and a single. Austin Riley, Dustin Peterson, and Sean Kazmar each had a double.

Mississippi Braves 3, Biloxi Shuckers 1
Facing an undefeated pitcher for Biloxi and a quality lineup, Kyle Muller was mature beyond his years and used a pair of double plays to put together an incredibly impressive start. Muller finished with 6 innings of one-run ball, allowing 4 hits and 3 walks, striking out 5.
Cristian Pache was the only M-Braves hitter with multiple hits, as he gathered two singles. Alejandro Salazar continued his recent hot streak, getting a single and a walk. Travis Demeritte had a double. Kyle Muller even drew a walk at the plate and scored the first run for the team.

Lakeland Flying Tigers 5, Florida Fire Frogs 1
Florida called up Albinson Volquez from GCL to make a spot start, and he was tremendous, but the bullpen gave up four runs to give Lakeland the win. Volquez went 6 innings, allowing a single run on 3 hits and 5 walks, striking out 3.
Marcus Mooney had two singles and a walk. CJ Alexander had a single and a walk. William Contreras had a double.

West Virginia Power 7, Rome Braves 6
West Virginia jumped out on Rome starter Freddy Tarnok, and Rome’s comeback could not catch up to those early runs, falling just a run short. Coming out of the bullpen, Brooks Wilson was very impressive for Rome, tossing two scoreless innings, allowing one hit and no walks, striking out 3.
Drew Lugbauer had a pair of doubles and a walk. Trey Harris and Kevin Josephina each had a double, single, and a walk. Hagen Owenby had a pair of singles. Jefrey Ramos and Alan Crowley each had a single and a walk.

Danville Braves 14, Princeton Rays 7
Every member of the Danville offense reached base multiple times, as the D-Braves scored multiple runs in each of the last four innings. Zack Soria had a huge game, with a home run, double, walk, and a stolen base.
Nicholas Shumpert had a triple, single, and a walk. Nicholas Vizcaino had a double, single, and a walk. Henry Quintero had a triple and a double. Ricardo Rodriguez had a triple and a single. Luis Mejia had a double and a single.
Michael Mateja and Brett Langhorne each had a pair of singles. Carlos Baerga had a single and a walk.

GCL Tigers West 12, GCL Braves 0
In the last game of the year, the Braves got blown out of the water against the Tigers. Patrick Weigel did have a scoreless inning of rehab, recording a strikeout.
Wiston Cerrato had a pair of singles for the Braves. Joel Reyes had a double.

A tremendous pitchers’ duel was a great way to end the season. Jose Olague tossed 5 scoreless innings to start the game, allowing 4 hits and no walks, striking out 1. The Braves recorded just one hit on the day.
