C Sal Giardina promoted from Mississippi to Gwinnett

C Chris Stewart promoted from Gwinnett to Atlanta
RHP Walter Borkovich sent to Rome from Florida
RHP Jasseel De La Cruz placed on DL by Rome
Durham Bulls 5, Gwinnett Stripers 0, Game 1;
Kolby Allard made the start for Durham in a return to the mound, tossing 3 scoreless innings, but Chase Whitley struggled, allowing 5 runs over 2 innings to give the Bulls the first game win. Xavier Avery had the only hit of the game for Gwinnett, a double.
While the offense of the Stripers was non-existent in the first game, they came out firing in the second game, scoring 7 runs in the first two innings. Luiz Gohara tossed 5 2/3 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits and a walk, striking out 5.
Luis Marte had a pair of doubles. Danny Santana had a pair of singles. Dustin Peterson had a home run. Austin Riley, Rio Ruiz, and Sal Giardina each had a double. Xavier Avery had a stolen base.

Mobile BayBears 6, Mississippi Braves 4, Game 1; Mississippi Braves 7, Mobile BayBears 2
The Braves and BayBears split a doubleheader. Mobile put up 4 runs in the third inning to take control of the game and scored a pair more in the 5th to seal the opener. Cristian Pache had a home run and a single. Luis Valenzuela had a double and a single. Daniel Lockhart had a double and a walk. Alejandro Salazar had a triple. Carlos Martinez had a double.
Ricardo Sanchez spun an excellent game for the M-Braves to help the Braves dominate the second game of the day. Sanchez tossed 5 2/3 innings, allowing 2 runs, 1 earned, on 6 hits and no walks, striking out 6.
Luis Valenzuela had three singles. Travis Demeritte had a double and a walk. Tyler Marlette had a single and a walk. Cristian Pache had a double.

Jupiter Hammerheads 11, Florida Fire Frogs 2
Jupiter jumped out with a 3-run 3rd inning, and the game was fairly tight until the Hammerheads scored 7 runs in the top of the 9th. Jordan Rodgers had a triple and a single. Drew Waters had a double. William Contreras and Braxton Davidson each had a single and a walk.

Bluefield Blue Jays 7, Danville Braves 5
The Braves had moved into the lead until Bluefield scored 5 runs in the top of the 6th inning to take the lead and secure the win. Jose Montilla lost his control in the fateful 6th inning after having struck out 5 over 5 innings with no walks previously, allowing a pair of hits and walks in the 6th as well as a wild pitch and a hit by pitch before being removed.
Henry Quintero had three singles. Greg Cullen had a home run and a double. Nicholas Shumpert had a double and a single.

GCL Phillies West 13, GCL Braves 9
The Phillies West team came out with 5 runs in the top of the 2nd inning, and though the Braves put up plenty of runs of their own, they could never catch up. Interestingly, Miguel Pena had a very solid relief appearance, pitching 3 1/3 perfect innings, striking out 3.
Ray Hernandez had a home run and a pair of singles. Luidemid Rojas had a trio of singles. Darling Florentino had a home run, a double, and a walk. Christian Zamora and Juan Morales each had a double.

DSL Rays1 6, DSL Braves 4
The Braves were dominated on the mound for the first 5 innings, and by then the Rays1 had scored a few runs and taken control of the game. Jose Palma and Jose Hernandez each had a pair of singles and a walk. Jorge Rodriguez had a single and a pair of walks. Emeli Ferreira had a single and a walk.
