The Braves released a promo video for their schedule next season but you’ll have to hit the road earlier for those games.
It’s late August and the Atlanta Braves are in first place of the NL East and currently has the second best record in all of the National League. However, we have news relating to the future of the club.
Prior to this successful run in 2018 and critics accepting that this success was for real, we heard many times that 2019 IS THE YEAR for the Atlanta Braves. Well, we’re one step closer now that the Braves and MLB have released the schedule for next season, and the Braves are already ALL IN.

The Braves will start the season on the road when they start a three-game series against the Philadelphia Phillies beginning on March 28. After that, they will head home for their SunTrust Park opening week series’ against the Chicago Cubs and Miami Marlins for three games apiece.

For fans of crossover inter-league play, the Braves will get that started early when they face the Cleveland Indians for three games starting April 19.
After that, they’ll face some of the presumably weaker AL teams, primarily the AL Central squads.
All together, Atlanta will face the Indians, Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Royals, Toronto Blue Jays, and Chicago White Sox.
Something cool for next year is the Braves will get the holidays at home including the Fourth of July (against the Phillies) plus Father’s Day (vs Phillies) and Labor Day (vs Blue Jays).
Like always, no times or other promotions have been announced yet as that will come in the off-season.
Atlanta will host their final home stand of 2019 against the Phillies beginning September 17 for three games and then San Francisco Giants for another three. Then they’ll close out the season with three games against the New York Mets on September 27-29.
Next year, the MLB All-Star week and season break will be July 8-11 (All-Star game on 9th). After that, the Braves will head to San Diego for three games there.
Their “West Coast Series” trips will be more spaced out than in previous years which will be tougher on the team with those long flights.
That said, the off-days for the Braves seem much more evenly spaced out with their most crammed month being June where they play everyday except the 3rd and 20th.
Time Shifting For Atlanta
Along with releasing the schedule for 2019, the Braves also announced that home games will begin 15 minutes earlier next season. So night games will start at 7:20 PM and Sunday games will start at 1:20 PM.
The #Braves will change their home start times for the 2019 season. They are shifting night games from 7:35 p.m. to 7:20 p.m. and moving from 1:35 p.m. to 1:20 p.m. for Sunday games.

It will still leave a gap for traffic like originally intended when the Braves moved to SunTrust Park but will be closer to the starting times for most other Eastern time zone MLB games.
So far, 2019 sounds like it should be a fun year for the Atlanta Braves.
