LHP Kolby Allard optioned from Atlanta to Gwinnett

Buffalo Bisons 4, Gwinnett Stripers 2

The Bisons put together a pair of runs in the 8th inning to defeat Gwinnett on Sunday after a good battle all game long. Kyle Wright made the start for Gwinnett, and he went 7 strong innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits and 2 walks, striking out 6.

Sean Kazmar had a pair of singles. Michael Reed had a solo home run. Xavier Avery had a stolen base.

Tucker Davidson was one of the pitchers many were wanting to see step up in the Atlanta Braves system this season. He’s generally struggled in 2018, but on Sunday, he was absolutely dominant against Lakewood. Davidson tossed 7 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing 3 hits and no walks, striking out 6.

CJ Alexander had a big game, with three singles and a walk, also adding a stolen base. Drew Waters had a double and a single. Jordan Rodgers had a single and a walk.

Rome Braves 3, Delmarva Shorebirds 2

Rome kept Delmarva off the scoreboard until the 8th inning and by then had a 3-run lead that the Shorebirds were unable to overcome. Alan Rangel made the start for the Braves, tossing 7 scoreless innings, allowing 3 hits and no walks, striking out 7.

Justin Deal had three singles and stole three bases to lead the Rome offense. Trey Harris had a pair of singles. Jefrey Ramos had a double.

The Danville offense was explosive on Sunday, taking the lead in the 4th inning, and then adding on runs in each of the last four innings. While Dilmer Mejia struggled, Bradey Welsh tossed 2 2/3 scoreless innings of relief, allowing just a hit and a walk, striking out 5.

Nicholas Shumpert led the Danville attack with a triple and three singles. Michael Mateja had three singles and a walk. Nicholas Vizcaino had a double and two singles. Ricardo Rodriguez and Luis Mejia each had a trio of singles. Justin Smith had a solo home run.
