Prepping for postseason

According to Mark Bowman (Twitter link), Max Fried remains in the bullpen and starts one of the doubleheader games on Tuesday. The Braves called up Wes Parsons and optioned Kolby Allard after Allard’s start on Tuesday.

UPDATE:  okay, curveball.  Parsons didn’t even get a chance to unpack his gear:  he’ll been optioned back out to Gwinnett to make room for the early-arriving Kevin Gausman.  Gausman is now in New York with the team.

Allard could well return after he’s rested and the 10-day mandatory period in AAA passes, though there’s also a chance that he could make a cameo appearance as the ’26th’ man for the upcoming double-header – the 10-day recall prohibition rule doesn’t apply to this situation.

Here’s how the rotation sets up right now.

I filled in Fried as the sixth starter as I feel that’s the plan. Max has 92 innings this year at all levels and threw 118 across three levels last year.

Allard threw 150 innings last season at AA and sits at 114 across AAA and MLB now.  He could easily pick up innings if needed. Brandon McCarthy could return after September 1 and Luiz Gohara is sitting at Gwinnett waiting for the shuttle.
