The Atlanta Braves mascot has good moves, but the security guard may have better

Braves mascot and the security guard have a dance off

The Atlanta Braves announced that they had a brand new mascot at the 2018 ChopFest on January 27, 2018.  The name of the mascot?  Blooper!

What the heck kind of name is Blooper?  The Braves got a lot of flack on social media about this and rightfully so.  He looks kinda like the Phillie Phanatic and the name is just weird.  Why Blooper?

This change was strange for the Braves, but I’m guessing they just wanted to play it safe.

Though the initial reactions by Braves fans to Blooper were not overly positive, he’s actually doing pretty well on the field…which was very strange for me to type.  Kids seem to love him, players are joking around with him and hell the Braves are winning so everyone is currently a fan!

Blooper was going around the social media world a couple times last week for his antics against the New York Mets.  This is all in good fun, so no shaming here.

Last Monday when the Braves and Mets played that doubleheader, we all sat through a long rain delay.  Well, the cameras caught Blooper taking a nap in the dugout with an umbrella over his face.

On Tuesday, Blooper and a few Mets players decided to have some fun in the outfield while warming up.  Blooper was making fun of Jose Bautista’s bat flips when a ball came out of nowhere and got Blooper in the … well, you can see … part.

As long as everyone is laughing, it’s cool right?  Well, those Mets’ guys kept picking on Blooper.

Mets infielder, Asdrubal Cabrera, kept trying to get a Mets hat on top of Blooper.  He kept avoiding and swatting him away.  Until…that damn guy with the khakis on.

Blooper was back at it this past weekend during the Washington Nationals series.  This time it wasn’t with the other team, it was with a Braves security guard.

In the top of the 3rd inning, with the Braves leading 1-0, Blooper began dancing in front of the crowd and a security guard.  You kind of have the feeling that something was going to happen since you see this at other sporting events.  But little did I know what this guard was going to bring!

Take a look for yourself…

The dude’s got the moves!  You remember how The Freeze got his job…maybe this security guard has a bright future within the organization at a different position.
