On Saturday, we brought you a set of predictions on division finishers and division winners throughout MLB for 2018.  Today.. the end of the story:  awards and rewards.

If you missed the earlier edition, here’s how our Atlanta Braves‘-writing staff thought the regular season would go.  But now… how will it finish?  This is where it gets even harder.

Not like that stops us.

AL Playoff Teams

NL Playoff Teams

I didn’t ask for a lot of details through the playoff slog… though I did get a considerable amount.  At least one writer believes that the National’s drought of winning any playoff series will end, but most of us want to carry on with that tradition for the foreseeable future.

So with that in mind, here are our World Series picks:

World Series 2018

Only three different teams selected as our choices…with a lot of those – okay, just the Yankees – also appearing on the losing end of our guesses.

The Awards Show

Okay, yes – we’re Braves homers, but of course we picked Ronald Acuna as the expected Rookie of the Year in the NL.

We all expect him to be promoted around April 13 and to begin mashing baseballs around the park in short order.

Not that it will be that easy to collect this trophy:  the Marlins have Lewis Brinson who will start the year in Miami with 25 days of service time under his belt from 2017.  Scott Kingery just signed a big no-service-time contract with Philly (more on that in a later post), and Victor Robles will be with the Nationals.  That’s just 3 possible candidates… so Acuna will have to earn it.

Here’s the rest of our wild-and-out-there guesses for the ROY, Cy Young, and MVP awards for each league:

Some things are almost certain to have been derailed – Dan’s picks for the Giants to make it to the World Series got dealt a tremendous blow with the loss of Madison Bumgarner – again – for a couple of months.

Next: Catcher hung out to Dry

Beyond that… hey, as history shows, if we’re even close on some of these, then that’s an improvement over years’ past.  Put your own guesses below!
