Braves top prospect smashes a ball extremely far
Atlanta Braves top prospect — and MLB’s top prospect — Ronald Acuna mashed his first home run of the 2018 Spring Training. He didn’t just hit a home run, this ball exploded off the youngsters bat!
You’ll enjoy the sound that comes off this bat. It’s something you want as your ring tone or your alarm clock. This isn’t the noise that comes off everyone else’s bat, it’s something different.
Acuna crushed this ball not off a Triple-A pitcher or a relief pitcher, he hit this ball off one of Yankees top pitchers…Masahiro Tanaka.
Going into Friday’s game against the New York Yankees, Acuna has gone 5 for 16 at the plate with one run, two RBIs, one walk and four strikeouts.
On a 1-1 pitch, Acuna received a 90mph high and in fastball from Tanaka…and he absolutely didn’t miss it.
If you somehow needed any more excitement on a Friday, here you go! This will get you pretty pumped up about the Atlanta Braves in 2018 and the future of Ronald Acuna!

Heading into Spring Training, the debate was for Ronald Acuna to start with the Atlanta Braves or start the season in Triple-A. The advantage of the 20-year-old starting in Triple-A until mid-April would be so the Braves can control him for another season prior to hitting free agency. This would give the Braves seven years of control instead of six.
The Braves told the media that if Acuna proves himself ready, they’re not going to send him down.
Acuna told the media that he wants to make the Opening Day roster with the Atlanta Braves.
I think he’s putting on quite the show already to force the Braves to have Acuna in the Opening Day roster. With still over three weeks of Spring Training, still a lot can happen.
