The Braves will face off against the Pirates on Tuesday
Another day, another game! The Atlanta Braves will take on the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 1:05pm ET. There are some looming clouds around the Wide World of Sports complex, but they should be able to get this game in.
The Braves starting pitcher for Tuesday will be Mike Foltynewicz. He’ll be making his 2018 Spring Training debut.
Pittsburgh has started off the spring with an 0-3 record. Atlanta got their first victory of the 2018 spring training yesterday against the Washington Nationals. Though wins and losses don’t mean jack in Spring Training, it’s always nice to pick up some victories.
Braves lineup for Tuesday looks like this…
- Ender Inciarte CF
- Ozzie Albies 2B
- Freddie Freeman 1B
- Kurt Suzuki C
- Nick Markakis RF
- Johan Camargo 3B
- Charlie Culberson SS
- Lane Adams LF
- Chris Stewart DH
Pitcher – Mike Foltynewicz
This lineup is similar to yesterday’s lineup as it will look very similar to an everyday lineup for the Braves…if everything stays the same, no injuries happen and Ronald Acuna doesn’t make the Opening Day roster.
Manager Brian Snitker seems to like his catchers batting in the 4th slot no matter if it’s Tyler Flowers or Suzuki.
Chris Stewart will get his first opportunity to prove his worth. The Braves signed the 36-year-old (former Pittsburgh Pirate) on February 14, 2018. These AB’s will be his first of the Spring.
Pirates lineup for Tuesday looks like this…
- Adam Frazier LF
- Colin Moran 3B
- Jordan Luplow RF
- Bryce Brentz DH
- Kevin Kramer SS
- Eric Wood 1B
- Todd Cunningham CF
- Max Moroff 2B
- Jacob Stallings C
Pitcher – Steven Brault
Many in this lineup wouldn’t look familiar to you as the Pirates are going through a kinda, maybe, simi-rebuild. On this road trip they didn’t bring starters Josh Bell, Josh Harrison, Sean Rodriguez, Corey Dickerson, Starling Marte and Gregory Polanco.
We’ll also see a return of outfielder Todd Cunningham to Champion Stadium. The 28-year-old was drafted by the Braves in the 2nd round of the 2010 MLB draft. He played with the Atlanta Braves in 2013 and 2015…making 39 game appearances in 2015.
Extra Braves players we may see today
Positional players…
Ronald Acuna
William Contreras
Ray-Patrick Didder
