Braves Soroka helps bring awareness to the #BellLetsTalk initiative
In Canada, their mobile device company is called Bell — similar to our AT&T. What they are currently doing though, is incomparable. Atlanta Braves pitching prospect Mike Soroka joined in on the conversation.
First off, let’s explain #BellLetsTalk. Bell Let’s Talk Day is today, Wednesday January 31st. Bell will donate 5 cents to Canadian mental health programs for every text, tweet, Facebook, Instagram or Snapchat post using the #BellLetsTalk hashtag.
That’s all you have to do! So stop what you’re doing right now and go do this!
This initiative began in 2010 and $86.5 million has been donated to mental health initiatives across Canada. Developed by Dr. Heather Stuart, the Bell Mental Health and Anti-Stigma Research Chair at Queen’s University there are five simple sayings to help — language matters, educate yourself, be kind, listen and ask, and talk about it.
Atlanta’s right-handed pitcher, Soroka, was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta Canada. This afternoon, Soroka posted a photo of himself and said “Mental health is something that affects us all, and Bell is donating 5c to the initiative with every mention/retweet of Lets go braves twitter! Lets #EndTheStigma”
The cause is terrific, and it’s easy…go help try an end the stigma surrounding mental health. You never know who may be dealing with this awful disease so help out anyway you can.

Bell will donate a ton of money to research and awareness as a result of people texting, tweeting, and watching videos like the one below.

Bell has already surpassed 100 million “interactions.”

Already in 2018, #BellLetsTalk has 181,043,083! Let’s get them over 200,000,000!
This ends tonight at midnight – January 31st so get on twitter, Instagram, text someone, get on Facebook and Snapchat. Do whatever you can…please!
