Braves continue to be acknowledge for having many top prospects

Top prospect lists seem to come out every other day, but MLB Pipeline’s is one everyone references and a list we refer to in almost all prospect articles.  This one, I’m digging…though Keith Law’s was a little better!  The Atlanta Braves have eight on the 2018 list!

MLB Network and MLB Pipeline did a pretty sweet thing on Saturday night….the live streamed their top prospect list show on Twitter!

The four prospect lists that I pay most attention to is MLB Pipeline, Baseball America, Keith Law and Baseball Prospectus.  BP hasn’t released their top 100 list yet for 2018.

Law had 10 Braves on his list, BA had eight as well as MLB Pipeline.

Braves prospects that made MLB Pipeline’s top 100

  • 97. Austin Riley – Third baseman
  • 83. Max Fried – Left-handed pitcher
  • 58. Kolby Allard – Left-handed pitcher
  • 51. Ian Anderson – Right-handed pitcher
  • 49. Luiz Gohara – Left-handed pitcher
  • 31. Mike Soroka – Right-handed pitcher
  • 30. Kyle Wright – Right-handed pitcher
  • 2. Ronald Acuna – Outfielder

So far, Acuna has been ranked number one in two of three lists.  I’m okay with that, but it would have been nice to see him sweep these.  Angels pitcher Shohei Ohtani received the #1 ranking on MLB Pipeline for 2018.

Other top farm teams are the Chicago White Sox and San Diego Padres as they each have seven prospects.  The Tampa Bay Rays, Philadelphia Phillies and New York Yankees have six prospects on this list.  So, you know what that tells me?  Braves win again!

Even with that international investigation and taking 12 prospects from us, the Braves still come out on top!

We’ve got a bright future to look ahead to, I’m pumped for this season and the future.  Better jump on the train quickly, because the Braves could be back very shortly.

One of our top prospect, Mike Soroka was paying attention to the list and posted the following.  He also had some great things to say about other prospects in the game.  Check out his twitter timeline to see what he said about Vladimir Guerrero Jr, Nick Senzel and Kyle Tucker.

Next: Braves Freddie Freeman had Lasik eye surgery

Soroka went on to mention his teammate, Ronald Acuna.  He said he’s glad he doesn’t have to pitch against Acuna…for some reason, I think many pitchers are going to wish they didn’t have to face him!
