The Atlanta Braves lose to the Mets in the bottom of the 9th

The Braves fall to the Mets in the bottom of the 9th inning, but it was a productive and record-making night for Atlanta despite the loss… lots of ‘firsts’ and possibly a ‘last’.
R.A. Dickey had a great night on the mound for the Atlanta Braves tonight against his former team in what may be his last game as a Major League pitcher.
Dickey had 6 2/3 innings pitched, 5H, 2R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 4 SO and 1 HR given up to Kevin Plawecki in the bottom of the 7th inning. R.A. Dickey also tried to help his own cause, as he singled on a base hit up the middle in the top of the 6th inning, but was given a no decision as the loss was handed to A.J. Minter.
On the third pitch of the game in the top of the 1st inning, Ender Inciarte hit a lead off double to the corner in right field for his 200th hit on the season. As a suitable follow-up, Inciarte made a diving catch in center field in the bottom half of the first.

While this was quite a memorable game for Inciarte, it will also be a memorable game for R.A. Dickey. Depending on who the Braves will have pitch in the seasons last series against the Miami Marlins on Thursday, this game may have been Dickey’s last game as a major league pitcher. Tonight marked his 400th game and his 300th start off of the mound.
In the bottom of the 9th inning, A.J. Minter surrendered the first walk of his MLB career, which ended his streak of no walks through 13 innings pitched as a rookie. Minter gave up a single followed by a walk in the bottom of the 9th inning with no outs.
Minter struck out Amed Rosario, but then gave up the game-winning single to Travis Taijeron. Minter was given the loss, Familia was given the win, and what may be Dickey’s last game was a no decision for him.
