Atlanta Braves: Knockahoma Nation Episode 21
Even though we’re creeping up on September, there’s some excitement going on in Atlanta if you’re paying attention to the middle infield. The Dansby/Ozzie duo appears like it could be here for good. But when it comes to the rest of the squad, there are some question marks for next year.
This week on The Nation, Ken and I discuss what the 2018 pitching staff could look like. Will Julio Teheran be an Atlanta Brave next year? Are young guys like Sims and Newk guaranteed locks? Will Max Fried get a shot in the rotation? What’s the ETA of Mike Soroka? We try (our best) to answer some of these questions.

Our good friend Braves Options Guy (if you’re not on Twitter, this means nothing to you) stops by and gives a heartfelt baseball monologue. In it, he talks about the heartbreak that is associated with this crazy game that we love so much.
And, what’s a proper Knockahoma Nation podcast without throwing a little bit of shade at the Nick Markakis haters?
Imagine if Dansby Swanson came out of the 2017 gate hitting around .280 with a .350ish OBP.
Imagine if Dansby Swanson ends up having a two-Gold Glove career in which he ends up hitting over .290 seven times with over 2,000 hits…
Well, that’s Nick Markakis’ career. The same guy many Dansby Swanson super fans ostracize. I’ll see myself out now.
In this episode I also give a history lesson to some of you young whippersnappers about the greatest of all time –
. I wrote about it this one time
