The Braves played the Rockies in a home series rubber game Sunday, and came out on the short end of a low scoring affair.
Mike Foltynewicz went to the hill for the Atlanta Braves (57-71)Â Sunday, going five strong for his team, but a couple of high pitch innings early on led to an early exit.
In the end, however, it wouldn’t matter much as Atlanta’s offense couldn’t plate any runners in the game, losing to Colorado 0-3.
Folty gave up only one earned run on four hits in five innings of work, striking out six and walking only three batters. He was replaced for the sixth inning in favor of A.J. Minter, who gave up a homer to Mark Reynolds with Gerardo Parra aboard.

Three runs would be all the Rockies would need as Atlanta’s offense couldn’t find a way to turn their six hits into runs.
Brandon Phillips inched closer to the 2,000 hit mark in the game, going 2-for-4 (134 for the season; 1997 for his career). Kurt Suzuki, Matt Adams, Ozzie Albies and Dansby Swanson each had a hit apiece in the game.
Jason Mott, Sam Freeman and Jim Johnson each had solid relief appearances for Atlanta, shutting out the Rockies through the final three innings.
Most notable of those outings was Johnson, who has struggled mightily of late. He threw two thirds of an inning and walked a batter, but didn’t give up any runs.
The Atlanta Braves wrapped up a nine-game home stand with this loss to the Rockies, and now head on the road to Philadelphia and Chicago.
