Atlanta Braves Minor League All Questions Asked June Edition – BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!
Atlanta Braves Minor League AQA for June
The Atlanta Braves are playing well, the minor league teams are all in action now that the GCL club opened this past Monday, and all is right with the world! First, that big announcement that we’ve been alluding to all week:
I wrote my first article with Tomahawk Take in June of 2013. My second article, in that same week, examined the Braves’ drafting and the reputation they had as poor drafters at the time. Obviously, the interest in the minor leagues was (and has always been) strong for me.
Over the years, many of you have followed my writing here with Tomahawk Take on the Braves in general and specifically on the minor leagues. I’ve been honored to be noted as one of the people that writers from other teams come to in order to discuss the Atlanta Braves minor league system. The coverage of the minor leagues that Jeff and Alan here at TT have allowed me to pursue has set me up with contacts around the game that I will be able to utilize in any writing capacity I take on going forward.
Last spring, I began writing for Call To The Pen, FanSided’s general baseball blog. That has allowed me to write about prospects throughout the league and really made some amazing contacts as well, like scouts, team officials, and even players who have reached out to discuss my evaluations from a video perspective. Writing with CttP has opened other doors for me, and starting the first week of July, I will be walking through one of them.
As of next week, I will be taking on the role as co-editor of Puckett’s Pond, the Minnesota Twins blog within the FanSided network. I will still be writing with Call To The Pen, but my writing there will be limited, and the new role will mean that I am leaving Tomahawk Take.
What does this mean for you as the reader? Hopefully nothing at all! Alan and Jeff have an amazing staff of writers here at TT, and there is no reason to assume that you will not get great content here on the minor leagues going forward. For those of you who do enjoy my writing, one change with Call To The Pen with my departure from TT will be that I am allowed to cover Atlanta Braves topics and prospects, which will mean that you can expect articles on the team and scouting reports on the top prospects in the Braves system at Call To The Pen.
I would like to thank all the readers who have been part of the last 4 years here with Tomahawk Take, as without you, this is nowhere near as much fun. I am a writer who reads every comment, and many of you know that I will interact plenty as well in the comments sections, even of other articles than my own.
More than anything, I’d like to thank publicly the tremendous work that Jeff and Alan do as the co-editors here at Tomahawk Take. Atlanta Braves fans are blessed with two guys who truly run an exceptional site oriented to the fans and covering the Braves in any way possible. Also, a quick shout out to the one other writer still remaining from my original days, Fred, who has been a writer who has been very willing to share his thoughts and suggestions along with help out whenever needed.
If you’re at all interested in picking up an American League club, come on over to Puckett’s Pond and we can talk some Minnesota Twins!
With all that said, let’s get on with the AQA!
The “Rules”
Rules?! We don’t need no stinking rules!
Well, okay, a couple of suggested guidelines. This will primarily be answered by Benjamin Chase, the minor league coordinator around these parts, however any member of the Tomahawk Take team or any one of you can feel free to add your answer/comment to a question asked. Any question posted to this thread before Sunday at midnight eastern will be answered, so feel free to ask away, even if you don’t catch this on the exact day that it posted to the site! If the number gets to be too heavy, in the future I may set an earlier cut off time, but for right now, we’ll stick to keeping this open to new questions throughout the weekend.
