Patrick Weigel made his first AA start, and he fared well, going 5 1/3 innings, allowing 2 runs on 2 hits and 4 walks. striking out 7. Ozzie Albies had a triple and two singles. Bluefield touched up top 2016 pick Ian Anderson early on Monday en route to a 9-1 win over Danville. Anderson really didn’t have bad stuff, but it just seemed to get hit hard when it got hit, and his defense did him no favors as he went 4 innings, allowing 6 runs (5 earned) on 5 hits and 2 walks, striking out 4. Darien McLemore had two walks. Elias Arias and Brett Cumberland each had a single and a walk. Derian Cruz had a triple. Alex Lee had a double.

Tuesday

Danville walked off with a win after scoring in the bottom of the 11th, defeating Bluefield 6-5. Kyle Muller followed him and went 3 scoreless innings, allowing 2 hits and a walk, striking out 4. Alex Aquino had a double and a single along with a steal.
