ICYMI: Atlanta Braves Minor League Manager Does The ‘Whip’ In Hilarious Video
Braves Manager Does The Whip
This post is just for the few (maybe many, like myself) that could have missed this or looked it over. Two weeks ago, the Gulf Coast League Braves, behind four different pitchers, threw a no-hitter and no walk game — the Braves were two errors away from a perfect game. This was also the game that former Atlanta Braves outfield Hector Olivera went 4-5 with a homer, a double and three RBIs.
The four pitchers involved in this no-no were…
The Braves selected Joey Wentz with the 40th overall selection in the 2016 MLB draft out of Shawnee Mission East High School in Kansas.
The Braves drafted Anthony Guardado with the 89th overall selection in the 2015 MLB draft out of Nogales High School in California.
The Braves signed Odalvi Javier as a free agent to a minor league contract on December 2, 2014.
The Braves drafted Ryan Schlosser with the 949th overall selection (32nd round) in the 2016 MLB draft out of Century College.
Wentz went three innings and had six strikeouts. Guardado pitched the next inning and struck out one. Javier threw the next four innings and had three strikeouts. Schlosser was on the mound for the final inning and completed the no-hitter.
Those guys were the players of the game, but the star of the night was Braves Manager Nestor Perez.
Perez worked as an assistant hitting coach for the Danville Braves and Rome Braves for the past three seasons before being named the Manager of the GCL Braves earlier this year.
Right after the game against the Yankees, Perez came into the locker room and surprised, well us all. A very happy and excited Manager, Perez shows off his dance moves…
This was posted originally the day after the game by Braves pitcher Tyler Greene, but it wasn’t until tonight that I saw this. Thanks to Braves 379th overall pick (13th round) in 2016, Brandon T. White’s retweet of this video!
If you’re unsure of this “dance” move, the hip-hop artist Silento brought ‘Watch Me’ to the world last year and at one point it seemed to be everywhere. Here’s the music video if you’re still unsure of what I’m referring too.
Next: The Braves are better with Matt Kemp
I’ve watched a couple videos of folks whipping and nae naeing, but this could possibly be the best (most hilarious) one I’ve ever seen. Thanks you Nestor Perez, I’ll always remember your name!
