Braves to unveil parking details by year-end
Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: Did you forget about the new stadium? It’s been a little while since any stories have popped up about it. Folks are currently concerned about the parking and traffic situation for the new SunTrust Ball Park. The Braves and Cobb County are rumored to be informing the media about their plans in the upcoming months. It’s kind of crazy to think about it, but we are getting very close to this new entertainment facility opening.
"Atlanta Braves officials plan to roll out their long-awaited parking plans in three stages in the months leading up to the opening of SunTrust Park.Mike Plant, the club’s president of development, said Wednesday the first details will be released before the end of this year, with the full plan to be unveiled early next year.Concerns about traffic and parking around SunTrust Park and the adjoining Battery mixed-use development have caused concern among many Cobb County residents, fans and commuters since the Braves announced plans to move a site near Cumberland Mall starting with the 2017 season."
Infante’s 9th-inning Single Lifts G-Braves
Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: Atlanta Braves prospect, Chris Ellis, started for the Gwinnett Braves on Wednesday going five innings, giving up four hits, two runs, three walks and had three strikeouts. Ellis is ranked on MLB.com as the Braves #12 top ranked prospect and #24 on Ben Chase’s mid-season rankings. The 23-year-old has started seven games now for Gwinnett going 1-4 with a 7.48 ERA. He was 8-2 with a 2.75 ERA in 13 starts with the Mississippi Braves. In case you were wondering, Hector Olivera played for the Gwinnett Braves on Tuesday going 1-4, but had the day off on Wednesday.
"Omar Infante’s two-out, two-RBI single in the top of the ninth inning propelled the Gwinnett Braves (42-56) to a 3-2 win over the Syracuse Chiefs (46-51) Wednesday afternoon in the finale of the three-game series at NBT Bank Stadium. With the win, the G-Braves ended a season high eight-game losing streak.Gwinnett went into the ninth trailing 2-1, but took the lead off reliever Erik Davis out of the Syracuse bullpen. Blake Lalli led off the inning with a walk and was replaced by pinch-runner Sean Kazmar Jr.After pinch-hitter Rio Ruiz struck out, Daniel Castro singled to right to put runners on first and third.Reid Brignac was hit by a pitch to load the bases with one out."
Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: Ol’ Chip, he’s at it again. What a personality Mr. Chipper Jones has. Wish he was still in a Braves uniform. Sometimes you sit back and think about the times when he was suiting up everyday and we kind of took it for granted. I was kind of hoping by now we would hear something about how he’s enjoying his new “coaching” role with the Braves. Haven’t heard much about it since Spring Training.
