Mississippi used four arms combining for a solid effort to defeat Tennessee 3-1. Victor Mateo got the start, going 4 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits and 2 walks, striking out 3. Dustin Peterson had two singles. Matt Lipka had a single, two walks, and stole a base. Dian Toscano had two walks.

While Sean Newcomb continued his much better control, he struggled mightily with missing spots in the zone on Wednesday, and he suffered a lot of hits due to this as Mississippi fell 4-1.
