Atlanta Braves Need Some Pop What About Matt Dominguez?
Ben Nicholson-Smith says the Blue Jays designated Matt Dominguez or assignment, could he help the Atlanta Braves?
Dominguez was a first round pick of the Marlins back in 2007 and went to Houston as part of the Carlos Lee deal in 2012. His first season and a half with the Astros he showed some power but the rest of his line wasn’t impressive. In 2014 he played 152 games but his power seemed to vanish and with a low OBP he found himself back in the minors to start 2015.

That didn’t seem to help much and mid year the Astros put him on waivers where the Brewers claimed him. He put up good numbers at the Brewers farm team in Colorado Springs but he was once again on waivers after the season ended,
The Blue Jays grabbed him in September and he broke camp with them this year where he played three games at third and one at first as well as acting as DH in one game. At AAA Buffalo he appeared in 46 games – 39 at third & 7 at first – with a .287/.333/.419/.752 line including 5 homers, 10 doubles, 28 Ks and 10 walks in 183 PA.
