Sunday Sweep Eludes Atlanta Braves
Julio Teheran had a quick first inning but that was the end of the easy bit for him today as for the second week running a Sunday sweep failed to materialize. In the second his pitch count jumped to 40 and his plate looked to be hiding when he looked for it.
The lineup looked as lost as Teheran’s control. They had two men on in the bottom of the first but didn’t score and were mostly silent the rest of the day.

In the fourth Teheran appeared to have something wrong with his leg and his motion looked even more disjointed than it had prior to that inning. A visit from the trainer ended with Teheran staying in the game but his pitches were all over the place.
Marcell Ozuna had led off the fourth with a soft single to center, Teheran then walked Justin Bour and Derek Dietrich singled to center to load the bases.
Miguel Rojas hit a soft ground ball to first and Freddie Freeman fired to second to start what looked like a double play but Teheran didn’t cover first and they only got one out while the run scored.
Teheran recovered to strike out the next two hitters and escape without more damage.
UPDATE: According to Aimee Sachs Teheran was fighting a blister, and has been for a at least a week.
"“The 25-year-old right-hander gave up three runs on five hits over 5 1/3 innings with three walks and three strikeouts. Teheran (1-5, 2.77 ERA) pitched through a nagging blister on his right foot, which he said had been bothering him his last few starts.”"
