Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: On Saturday night, I attending the game against the New York Mets and I was impressed how the Atlanta Braves fought through the game…up until the 9th inning. A few clutch hits here and there and the Braves could have won this game – hell many games this season. Too many two-outs with runners on base and not enough execution. Braves hitters totaled 10 hits for the game with Daniel Castro, Freddie Freeman, Jeff Francoeur all having multi hit games. Not enough though as the Braves now fall to 4-13 for the 2016 season.

Braves’ Matt Marksberry: Optioned to Triple-A
Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: Marksberry was brought up to the Braves for Saturday night’s game in Atlanta. He pitched in two innings for the Braves, but only 0.2 innings…he finished the 6th inning for starting pitcher Jhoulys Chacin getting Curtis Granderson to fly out to left field. But then in the 7th inning, David Wright doubled to left and then Marksberry hit Michael Conforto in the shoulder. After he struck out Lucas Duda, Fredi Gonzalez pulled Marksberry for Chris Withrow. After the game, the Braves sent Marksberry back to the minors.
"Matt Marksberry was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett on Saturday.Recalled earlier Saturday from Double-A Mississippi, Marksberry gave up one run on one hit while striking out one in 0.2 innings in his 2016 debut with the Atlanta Braves . With the move to Gwinnett, he’s effectively earned a promotion and could be called upon again if the need arises for a loogy."
Braves prospect Blair to debut with start Sunday vs. Mets
Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: The 23-year-old starting pitcher, Aaron Blair, will get his debut with the Braves on Sunday afternoon at 1:35pm ET. Jacob deGrom will get the ball for the Mets on Sunday who hasn’t pitched since April 11th because the birth of his son. According to MLBPipeline.com, Blair is ranked as baseball’s 54th-best prospect and fourth-best prospect in the Braves system. The Braves choose Blair for the call-up over pitcher Mike Foltynewicz, but I don’t see it being too long before we see Foltynewicz in ATL.
