The Box Score Looks Like There Was Actual Boxing Going On

There was punching and counter-punching.  There were injuries.  For six innings, there was hope.  Unfortunately, once Dan Winkler’s arm let go, the rest of the bullpen likewise lost its own grip.

The Atlanta Braves were able to gets actual hits and runs off of Adam Wainwright yesterday, but could not sustain their lead, marking the fourth time in five games that the Braves have held and lost a lead in the seventh inning or later in this still-young season.

Sure, the offense hasn’t been keeping up its end of the bargain, either, but it also hasn’t been completely anemic as that prior paragraph should indicate.  Expect more roster moves today (beyond that of the semi-announced Mallex Smith call-up) to find more fingers to plug holes in this leaking dike.
