Time to Reflect.
Yoenis Cespedes Signs With The New York Mets, What Did We Learn?
You may have noticed that Yoenis Cespedes guy has a baseball job again. You also may have noticed that the Atlanta Braves were getting mentioned a little bit as potential suitors for the Cuban outfielder. What can we learn from those Braves Cespedes rumors that we heard about?
Being that I spend far too much time on the internet, I was able to make some observations about how these rumors were striking the hearts of Braves Country. This should represent the general range of feelings:
cespedes here makes some sense. no draft pick comp., money to spend and opening in left, olivera is a 3B, not LF #braves

The Braves offer to Cespedes- 1 year, 75 bucks, a carton of Marlboros & some coupons to Zaxbys- apparently wasn't quite enough.

Bet you guys a nickel at some point there's a #mysteryteam late in the Cespedes bidding and it's the Braves to jack up the price for NYM/WAS

So, yeah. There were mixed reactions to the suggestion that the Braves were considering big spending on a big bat, amidst all of this tearing down of what we cherish the most (don’t tell my girlfriend). Now that the Cespedes sweepstakes is behind us, let’s see if we can breakdown what if anything the rumors may signal about the status of the rebuild.
First though, we need to interpret that MLB Trade Rumors alert you got on your smart phone. The way I see it, there are 4 general ways you might do that.
