Joe Maddon has built a Cubs bullpen that plays in October
Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: Trevor Cahill pitched in the 6th inning of the Tuesday afternoon game against the St. Louis Cardinals. In the one inning he pitched, he gave up a double, three hits and a run – but also picked up two strikeouts, the blown save and somehow the victory. What an afternoon for the former Atlanta Braves pitcher. He didn’t work out in Atlanta, but it seems like Joe Maddon has changed something.
"“I think a lot of it is just, there’s no pressure on anybody because there’s so much depth,” said Trevor Cahill, who got the win in the NLDS-clinching Game 4 after pitching the sixth inning. “There’s not really roles in the bullpen.“[The fourth inning] is just as important as the eighth or ninth. [Manager Joe Maddon] realizes that and he knows the game is decided every inning, not just the eighth or ninth.”Cahill talked a lot about Justin Grimm’s performance in the fourth inning, crediting the Cubs “mid-innings closer” (as Maddon tabbed Grimm earlier in the season) with saving the game for the team. Grimm entered after a leadoff walk by Jason Hammel and the first batter immediately reached on an error by third baseman Kris Bryant."
Braves expected to announce first wave of SunTrust Park retail
Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: The new ball park for the Atlanta Braves is right around the corner…don’t blink because 2017 will be here before you know it. I’m really looking forward to this new entertainment facility with bars, restaurants, shops, baseball and much more.
"The Atlanta Braves are expected to announce on Wednesday the first slate of retailers for the entertainment district adjacent to SunTrust Park, a person with knowledge of the situation said. The ball club and its development team also has been working on a name for the $400 million mix of retail, restaurants, apartments and a performance venue. The team has set a press conference for 1 p.m. at their season ticket sales office at 1100 Circle 75 Parkway to discuss a real estate matter."
Later today we'll release a new video fly-through of the mixed-use development at #SunTrustPark! pic.twitter.com/FCY4QAU1hd
